Running

I have found a new hobby. Running. I know it's soooo unlike me. I usually like lifting and kicking and punching things, but somehow I have found a new peace in running. My friend Kami is running a half-marathon next weekend and she is the one whom convinced me to start running. I have started off with 3 miles, which totally kicks my rear!!! I don't get it! I can run like 5 miles on a treadmill without killing myself. Outdoor running is totally different. I have been trying to get Clay to run with me but he is not thrilled about it. So he is out! My brother is thinking of it but he probably won't pan out. My mom says she will, so there is one partner to run with. Anyone want to start of slow with me???? I want to run a 5k in April. Now to Jorja. Speaking of running, Jorja has recently taken off. Running!!! She runs from me! She barely turned one and now she is running. This may be a bad sign!!! It is so funny! She runs on her tippy toes and her arms straight behind her, like she is a airplane trying to take off. I can't believe how fast she is changing everyday. I love to watch her learn and grow each day. God has truly blessed me with a great daughter, even if she runs from me.

Spring Break

Well we have had a very fun and productive Spring break, until last night. I woke with my throat literally on fire! This is funny because currently I am reading "Breaking Dawn" and I imagine Bella felt like I did last night when she woke as a newborn vampire and her throat was burning in thirst!!! I know it sounds demented but that was the first thought I had when I woke at 3:03 am this morning!!!! Love the series! I actually just finished it and my obsession with it has caused me not to blog for awhile! Sorry! My dad is loving the books too! He has been hounding me to finish so he can read them. Besides having strep throat. Jorja, Clay and I have had lots of time together! Also Clay and I have had some fun together too! Clay and I went to both wineries on Tuesday! Yes both!!! I had plenty of good wine! I swear I drank wine with Russell Simmons! In the middle of the tour a group of 4 black men joined our tour. I didn't pay much attention until the end of the tour, where we went to the bar and began our tasting. I looked across and there he was "freaking Russell Simmons" Clay says I am crazy but it was him!!!!

Jethro

My sister-in-law and I decided to buy our mother-in-law a puppy. Most of you know Linda (my mother-in-law) and you know that she desperately misses her grandchildren. Clay and I Iive 3 hours away in Lubbock, while Rachael and Cody live 9 hours away in Houston. So Rach and I were talking on the phone one day and decided to be brave and just get her a dog because we thought it would make her less lonesome in the lively town of Crane!!!! Ha Ha!!! Both her and I knew that by doing this we would more than likely upset the father-in-law. I thought that he might even make me take the dog back!!! But anyways, we decided to go for it. I jumped on the internet and found some breeders here in the LBK. I was really wanting to get her a golden doodle or a labradoodle because they are hypo-allergenic, but finally decided those were waaaayyy to expensive. I found a family that had bloodhound puppies. I called and the owner was a sweet stay at home mother whom had two kids of her own. She proceeded to tell me about the breed and how good her two older dogs are with her children. This woman wanted the pups to go to a good home with a good family. Our happy McGuire family was a perfect fit. I met her here in town. She pulled up with a basket of 4 puppies. They were all gorgeous!!!! I didn't know which one to pick. I finally decided on Tank. He was the biggest and laziest of them all. He sniffed Jorja real good and then just layed back down. I thought he had a great layed back personality. I called Rachael and we completed the deal. We were planning on meeting in Crane to surprise Linda on Valentines day. Linda had no idea and neither did Bill. I was mentally preparing myself for the wrath of Bill (I was mainly planning on blaming it on Rachael). When we pulled into the drive in Crane Linda came running out to get her grand-daughter and opened the door to her new companion with a bow around his neck. We said "Happy Valentines Day!" She almost died with excitement!!!! She pulled him out and said "this is for me?" I have never seen her so surprised and happy to receive something. It was worth all the pee and poop I cleaned up in my house and even the harassment of Bill, that I knew was coming. Linda ran to Bill and showed him what she had received and I swear it was love at first sight!!! Bill was elated!!! He picked him up and looked him over and said "now that's a good looking dog!" He loved it! I was so happy and relieved that Rachael and I were off the hook. Bill even ended up naming the dog. Bill named him "Jethro" and called all of his friends to tell them about "his" new dog. Clay kept reminding him that it was Mom's dog. Jethro gets along well with all of the grandchildren and even treed his first cat the other day. Bill called and bragged on him. In conclusion, I believe Jethro has served his purpose and then some.

Birthday Party

Today was Jorja's big birthday party. It was a lot of fun. Jorja did so good. She ate her cake and played in the bouncy house. We had tons of family and friends. It will be a memory that I will always remember. I hope that one day Jorja will look back at the pics and think about how much she is loved by everybody. I would like to personally thank everyone that came today. It means so much to us that you would take time to travel or take time from your busy schedules to celebrate with us. Everything went perfect, except for those West Texas winds!!!!! But I never let that get me down. We topped everything off with dinner at Lujans tonight with friends. It was fun and it makes me realize how important friendships are. I love my friends!!! Thanks to all my friends for always being there for me. Jorja is one now and I'm so proud of her!!! She is the coolest kid ever!!!

I can't sleep!!!

I cannot believe my baby is one years old!!! I literally can't wrap my mind around it. I can't even sleep!!! The time went by so quickly and I feel like I missed so much, but I was with her everyday. We have her big party on Saturday and I'm not even stressed about it, but I am very anxious. My house is a wreck and I really don't care at the moment! I bet I will on Saturday!!!! Jorja is at this great age! She is so happy and funny! I am so glad I get to stay at home with her! I had so much fun with Jorja today. She woke up speaking a new language! It was weird??? She said the same line allllll day "tickkllle ticklle ticklle" I was cracking up all day. We went to music class today and for the first time, Jorja made it through class without throwing a fit! We do a song about dogs and what they say, all Jorja knows is that dogs wag their tongues. So she sticks her tongue out and pants like a dog when every other child is barking. Her teacher thought it was really funny and I have to admit I was kind of proud!!! I think I'm finally tired now. Goodnight.
